Your Shredder Guitar Won’t Play Your Music

For an aspiring solo guitarist, guitar shredding is one skill you would like to sharpen.  This would come in very handy especially if you want to be the lead electric guitarist in a band.  You would want to be really good at playing a lot of the rock songs that have lead guitar solo parts.

There is no particular brand of shredder guitar in the market.  It’s not even a type of guitar.  It’s all based on the technique and the way you learn to play with all sides of the pick.  You can play by an angle across your guitar strings or by positioning your finger on the guitar body while you pick open handed.

A good shredder also knows the scales that are made for shredding.  You need to have knowledge and study the sequences and how it can be applied to additional keys and scales.  Learning about open position scales can be perfect for adding pull-offs to your shred technique.

But it is not all about keys and scales when it comes to shredding.  You also need to play musically otherwise it will all just be noise.  Breaking and timing are necessary to be a good guitar shredder.

So it never really is about a shredder guitar.  It’s all about skills, your musical knowledge, and timing.  But most importantly, it’s all about playing music rather than just making noise.  I can probably advise you to just “play it by ear”.
