If you want to master the art of being a guitar shredder, you will have to put some time into it. A lot of people find it difficult to become a guitar shredder because they think it is time consuming. Most guitarists never achieve being a guitar shredder because of their lack of patience.
Repetition is the easiest way to help you increase speed on your guitar. Some people use a drum machine or a metronome. By playing the lick, lead or solo slowly at first, you can increase your tempo when you practice.
This could sometimes take weeks to master depending on the complexity and the length of the piece. Just be patient. This could take hundreds of attempts before you can play it at full speed perfectly.
The process of fingering is also important. The position of your fingers play an extremely important role when guitar shredding. Sloppy techniques come out when you play slowly.
It is necessary to study your choice of finger position to speed things up. You have to be efficient in learning the lick or phrase because it makes a big difference when you perform. Let your subconscious do the work.
